Alexander Velbel graduated from the Leningrad Electrical Engineering Institute named after V.I.Ulyanov (Lenin) specialized in Electroacoustics and Ultrasonic Technology. He worked on noise control of railway and road construction machines in the laboratory at the Leningrad Institute of Railway Engineers (LIIZHT), carried out experimental research and calculations, as well as the development of noise protection measures for quarry excavators at Izhorsky Plant, worked on noise reduction of gas turbine thermal power plants in the Engineering Center of JSC Energomashcorporation, on industrial noise reduction at different facilities of the All-Union Scientific-Research Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (VNIIOT). From 2006 to the present, he has been the Head of the acoustic stand of the research Laboratory of Aerodynamics and acoustics at the Arktos plant, dealing with noise reduction of ventilation equipment. Alexander Velbel is the author of more than 15 scientific works in vibroacoustics and a co-author of the invention of a sound measuring system for monitoring the sound-insulating properties of materials.
