Abbakumov Konstantin, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Electroacoustics and Ultrasound Technology of the St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University ‘LETI’ named after V.I. Ulyanov (Lenin) (SPbSETU ‘LETI’). Chairman of the Scientific and Methodological Council in the field of Instrumentation within the FUMO of the UGSN ‘Photonics, Instrumentation, optical and Biotechnical systems and Technologies’, a 3rd-level specialist in acoustic methods of non-destructive testing.

Abbakumov Konstantin research interests include diffraction and propagation of wave processes in inhomogeneous media, acoustic methods of non-destructive testing, ultrasonic flaw detection, small-sized renewable energy sources, acoustic measurements.

Abbakumov Konstantin was engaged in research of heterogeneities of metallurgical origin in alloys of non-ferrous and ferrous metals in application to the tasks of ultrasonic flaw detection, development and implementation of multi-channel industrial ultrasonic flaw detectors for control of rolled products, development of contactless electromagnetic-acoustic transducers.

Abbakumov Konstantin is a member of three specialized councils for the defense of candidate's and doctoral theses, participated as a supervisor in the preparation of 1 doctoral and 10 candidate's theses. He is the author of five monographs, more than 150 scientific articles, 11 patents and copyright certificates for inventions, 15 educational and methodical manuals, as well as the author of the training courses ‘Electronic devices of non-destructive testing devices’, ‘Fundamentals of metrology and standardization in non-destructive testing’, ‘Technologies of non-destructive testing and quality management’, ‘Physical the basics of obtaining information’.
